All you need to know to get ready for Never Ever After
Location
The LARP venue will be a hotel with a seperate castle about 300 meters from the hotel.
Address
The exact address of the venue is:Fletchter Landgoed Hotel Renesse Stoofwekken 5, 4325 BC Renesse, Netherlands The name of the castle (part of the venue) is called: Slot Moermond. The location is hard to reach with public transport, we advise people to group up and carpool to the venue. We, as a team might be able to arrange group transport if there is enough demand for this. We humbly ask everyone: Don't be shy to ask or offer carpool spots.
Parking
The domain has room for free parking of cars.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are 2 persoon rooms and either have 2x1p beds or 1x king size 2p bed. You will share a bedroom with another player.
Accessibility
The hotel is completely ground floor without stairs and very accessible. The location where we play however is a 13th century castle and has a lot of stairs and levels. Therefore the game location is not very friendly for people who are unable to walk stairs.
Accomodation
The hotel offers all needed comfort for you as a guest, including 2-person rooms with ensuite bathroom. The rooms are spacious enough to store your luggage.
Drinks
All drinks you wish to have extra during the event can be placed on your room so you can simply take care of the bill at check-out. You can look up the hotel at https://www.fletcherlandgoedhotelrenesse.nl/
Food and drinks
We will offer 5 meals:Dinner on Friday and SaturdayLunch on SaturdayBreakfast (in the hotel) on Saturday and Sunday. There will be NO lunch on Friday, we advise to arrive early and eat at the hotel or bring something to eat for lunch. All meals will be prepared by the staff of the hotel, are buffet styled, and will have vegetarian options.
Allergies? Vegan?
Vegan and allergies can be discussed with the hotel F&B and will be taken into account, however your choice might be smaller or a special meal will be provided for you. You are able to tell this to us during sign up.
Drinks
During the game we offer water, tea and coffee. All other drinks are available during the game as there is hotel staff at the castle. However all ordered drinks will be billed to your room and will have to be paid at checkout.
Costumes
Players are expected to wear a costume fitting their character. The costumes can be as wild and extravagant as your imagination allows. We encourage you to go all out in colors and extravagance. We ask you to refrain from too much gray as these colors represent the dementia traits of Frederik Crow and we will use these colors in the game to show the decline of the world the characters live in (see Themes Explained). Please be aware that this larp is set to have confrontations in various ways. This means physical contact and conflict scenes. You should be able to move comfortably in your costume. Some players might wish to wear make-up and prosthetic parts. Sometimes this is to clarify they play an animal or fantastic creature. However, no full animal-masks/makeup or full animal costume is wanted in this larp. Body language, facial expression and representation are the most important factors. The representation can be done with prostheses, make-up, wigs and costume parts like fur, feathers, tails etc. Avoid any full suits or masks. Small prosthetics are allowed: full or partial face masks not. If it is logical for your character and costume, you are allowed to have a weapon. Weapons can only be larp safe and are NEVER to be used indoors and without previous coordination. They can be used to have a duel for instance between 2 characters, but we wish to keep the usage of weapons to an absolute minimum. This is not a larp focussed on fights, please take this into consideration when deciding this.
Language
All runs will be in English. We ask ALL participants to switch to 100% English once arriving at the scene and not speak their native tongue in public.
